Clinics & Training

Training with Summit

In addition to on field work, whether it be practice, camps, or tournaments, there is plenty of work to be done off the field.

Summit Lacrosse pairs with Dryland Sports to help keep their athletes fit and sound.

Performance Training

A major part of our mission at Summit is to coach each girl to play her best, which is why we have decided to enhance our midweek training. We are stepping away from the one-size-fits-all gym approach from years past. This year we are implementing a more intentional performance training experience that will also involve stick-in-hand work focusing on the technical aspects of the game.

Summit is the sole girls lacrosse club contracted with Dryland Sports, who will be using this unique training method. Each week, the concentration of the midweek session will rotate, and the focus will be derived from either:

(A) an attack-minded option (also the goalie training session)
(B) a defensive-minded option,
(C) an option for draws and 50-50 ball situations.

Each session incorporates Dryland’s performance and recovery training, focusing on each player’s mobility, strength, and conditioning - with emphasis on proper footwork and body position.

Our Chicago-area athletes will continue to work with TC Boost.

Summit recommends players to various camps and clinics to improve their skills, and stay fit.
